RESEARCHER OF MARINE ECOLOGY, INSTITUTE OF OCEANOGRAPHY, HELLENIC MARINE ECOLOGY RESEARCH CENTRE
Dr. Maria Salomidi is a Scientific Diver and Researcher at the Institute of Oceanography of the Hellenic Centre for Marine Research. She studied Environmental Sciences at the University of the Aegean, putting an early focus on Marine Ecology with her PhD Thesis (Assessing coastal quality by means of phytobenthic bioindicators). Her research interests lie in the fields of benthic ecology, integrated assessment, conservation, and restoration. She has co-authored numerous scientific articles, and “Benthos & Pelagos” (2012), an introduction into the Life of the Greek Seas. She has a long-time experience in communicating marine science across all education levels and the general public.
