KRONTIRIS IOANNIS

HELLENIC COASTGUARD CAPTAIN MARITIME LAW & SPEED BOAT TEACHER

Yannis Krontiris studied at the University of Piraeus and graduated from the Department of Business Administration and Management. He joined the Coast Guard in 2011 and has held positions such as: head of the inspection office, Port Master of Aegina, Deputy Commander of the Port Department of Salamina, member of the Port Police, head of the judicial - market law and public prosecutor at the Central Port Authority of Piraeus, from which he gained significant experience in dealing with serious maritime accidents and marine pollution incidents.

Since 2018 he has been serving at the Ministry of Shipping and Insular Policy in the Directorate of Maritime Transport, where he is responsible for the management and configuration of the maritime network, the conduct of public tenders, the harmonization of Greek and Community legislation, etc. At the same time, for the last two years he has been employed as an instructor at Omega Schools, delivering courses to students graduating with the specialization "boat captains"

He holds a speedboat pilot's license and a recreational boat skipper's license.
In his free time he is involved in sea kayaking by organizing excursions with small groups.
It gives priority to the safety of the team along with the recreation offered by the sport, while its aim is to spread the sport and promote the Greek marine wealth.
