In 2006, after a long career in the shipping industry as a senior surveyor and technical advisor, Mr. Margetis decided to establish his own company, His vision was to create an organization that would offer to the shipping market, technical consulting services of excellent quality and specialization.
Today, Margetis Maritime is one of the leading consulting firms, undertaking all kinds of technical inspection and expertise cases for the insurance and shipping industry, while at the same time developing additional holistic services that listen to the needs of the community in areas such as the environment, total quality, safety of the river, corporate governance, etc.
Mr. Margetis is the CEO of the company and in addition to his overall executive responsibilities, he has a significant presence in courts and hearings as an expert. He is a member of the "Hellenic Association of Shipping Technical Consultants" and, since 2019, he is an Associate member of the Association of Average Adjusters.
Originally from Greece, Mr. G. Margetis lived in America as a student, obtaining a degree in Naval Architecture and Naval Engineering from the University of Michigan and two master's degrees, one in Naval Architecture and one in Mechanical Engineering, both from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (M.I.T.).
