Despina Papatheodoulou was born in Piraeus. She graduated from the Department of Political & Economic Sciences of the Law School of the University of Athens. She has been working in the field of Yachting communication since 1995. She was the publisher of the annual yachting catalog APOPLOUS, which was distributed freely to all the marinas and yachting events, until 2003. For the last 20 years she has been a Consultant to the annual magazine Boats & Yachting published with the Real News newspaper and distributed at all events and exhibitions related to Yachting.
She was Head of Personnel and Volunteer Training at the Athens Olympic and Paralympic Games as well as at the 2011 World Special Olympics, in the sport of Sailing. As a member of the National Board of the Scouts of Greece, she voluntarily offered her services for many years in the fields of Volunteer Training, Sea Scout Training as well as Public Relations and promotion of the Scout Movement in Greece and abroad.
