PAPPAS IOANNIS

DEPUTY MINISTER OF MARITIME AFFAIRS & INSULAR POLICY

Ioannis Pappas was born in Rhodes in 1968. He is an Economist and Corporate Development Consultant. He is a graduate of the School of Business Administration with specialization in the Agricultural Sector, of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, as well as a Graduate of Economics and Political Sciences of the Law School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.

He was elected Member of Parliament for the Dodecanese in 2012 and 2019.

He was active as a Member of the Standing Committee on Public Administration, Public Order and Justice, Member of the Special Permanent Committee on Hellenism of the Diaspora and Member of the Parliamentary Friendship Groups of the Parliament: Australia, Italy, Poland.

He worked as a staff and executive for many years in companies in the telecommunications industry.

He served for 11 consecutive years as a senior executive of "Pegasus Publishing S. A. "

Since 2012 he is a Corporate Development Consultant at "Parapolitika" Group.

At the same time, it is active in the field of mass catering.

During his student years he was initially a member of DAP-NDFK and then of the Executive Bureau of ONNED.

He is also a founding member of LEO Rhodes, a Member of the Association of Rhodians of Attica, a Volunteer and Member of the Association for the Support of Cancer Patients of Rhodes and a Member of the Board of Directors of Colossos BC.

He speaks English and is married with two children.

On June 26, 2023, he was appointed Deputy Minister of Shipping and Island Policy by Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
