XIRADAKIS GEORGE

PRESIDENT OF THE ASSOCIATION OF BANKING AND FINANCIAL EXECUTIVES OF THE GREEK SHIPPING INDUSTRY

Mr. George Xiradakis was born in Athens in 1964 and grew up in Volos. He graduated from AEN Aspropyrgos and worked on Greek ships. He obtained a Diploma in Commercial Operations - City of London Polytechnic and MSc in Maritime Studies - University of Wales. He worked at Credit Lyonnais both in Athens and Paris as a Senior Executive in Shipping Finance. In 1999 he founded the company XRTC which acts as a commercial representative of foreign banks in Greek Shipping. Since 2010 XRTC has been an advisor to China Development Bank and Mr. Xiradakis has been appointed a member of the Bank's Specialist Advisory Committee.

Mr. Xiradakis is an appointed Shipping Specialist at the UK Department for International Trade (gov. uk/dit). He is President of the Association of Banking and Finance Executives of the European Union, Vice President of the Hellenic-Chinese Chamber of Commerce, Honorary Member and Special Advisor of the Board of Directors of the Hellenic Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Honorary President of the Propeller Club-Piraeus, Member of the Board of Directors of the Hellenic Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Honorary President of the Propeller Club-Piraeus, Member of the Board of Directors of the International Propeller Club of the USA, member of the Board of Directors of the Piraeus Shipping Club, member of the Mediterranean Committee of the Chinese Classification Society (CCS), the Maritime Museum of Greece, etc. In May 2019 he participated in the European elections as a candidate for the European Parliament.
