MAYOR OF SYMI ISLAND
Eleftherios Papakalodoukas, son of Nikolaos and Doukissa, was born in Rhodes in 1971. He graduated from the Panormiteio Gymnasium of Symi and later studied as a Business Administration professional. He worked as a self-employed entrepreneur for over ten years before his passion for public service led him to local politics. He first entered local government in 1998 and served as a Municipal Councilor of Symi from 2000 to 2001 in the opposition. In 2002, he was elected Mayor of Symi and has since been reelected five consecutive times (2006, 2010, 2014, 2019, 2023). During his tenure, Symi has experienced significant progress across all sectors: infrastructure, tourism, education, culture, environment, and digital governance. Key Achievements in Various Areas:
